| It all started back in 1999. My daughter and I had gone on a trail ride in Hawaii while we were on vacation. My daughter, then 26 years old, decided that she liked horseback riding. I told her that if she wanted to do more, we should take lessons - "horses, after all, are not cars", I cautioned. Additionally, it had been years - more than 30 of 'em - since I had done any serious horseback riding - and I certainly could use a refresher course! That same Christmas, I had a gift certificate to a local schooling barn presented to me for a trial riding lesson. What you will see in the pages following is the result of that wonderful present that my One time back in that arena - and the rest is history! Since then I have owned four horses, leased four more, managed a barn or two - and - well - have essentially become addicted all over again to my childhood passion - horsemanship!! I hope you enjoy browsing thru these pages as much as I have enjoyed putting them together and adding to them as the years have rolled by. If you are wondering where your next horseback riding vacation should take you, I offer you two suggestions: 1000 Acres Ranch in Stony Creek, NY (the Adirondacks); and CJM Ranch here on the island of Kaua'i in Hawaii. Need to take lessons before your equestrian adventures? There are many great schools across the nation that offer quality instruction. For the New England area where Little Brook Farm is located - check out Equinesite.com You will find a treasure chest of information there for all things equestrian. E komo Mai...... |
